For a husband, the minimum salary to apply for a family visa in Dubai is AED 3,000 with accommodation and AED 4,000 without accommodation. On the other hand, for a wife to support her family and apply for family visa services in Dubai, she must be earning either AED 3,000 with accommodation or AED 4,000 without accommodation if she is working as a teacher, engineer or in the medical sector. For a wife working in any other sector, the salary limit for a family visa usually starts at AED 8,000 with accommodation.

How to Apply for Residence Visa Services in Dubai

Other than fulfilling the salary requirement to apply for a family visa, expats need to submit all the required documents to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA) to complete the Dubai visa process. After verification of the salary and all the required documents, GDRFA holds the final authority to issue a family visa.

Here are the documents you require to apply for a family visa in Dubai:

  • A typed application form
  • Copy of entry visa
  • Medical certificate
  • Medical insurance of all the dependents

Apart from submitting all these documents to GDRFA, the spouse should complete the medical tests, visa stamping process, and Emirates ID procedures within the 60 days period after entering the UAE on an entry permit.

If the spouse is already in the UAE, he or she should not leave the country before completing the whole UAE residence visa process. The approximate fee for changing the status of visa from temporary to residency visa is AED 510.
